Can I visit and/or have a trial day?
Absolutely! You are welcome to schedule a visit (or a virtual tour if you are unable to visit in person). Additionally, we offer a free trial day for you to experience Yedda Blue firsthand.
When does the academic year start? Can I register for a shorter period?
We don't have a fixed starting date for the academic year, so your child can begin at any time. Yes, you can also register for a shorter period if needed.
What curriculum do you offer?
Our primary curriculum is based on the UK curriculum, including IGCSE and A-level programs. For nursery and preschool-age children, we follow the Montessori approach. If your child joins for a short period and wishes to continue their existing curriculum or focus on a specific academic field, we provide support for that.
Is Yedda Blue open all year or closed during summer and holidays like other schools?
Yedda Blue is open year-round. In Phuket, we are closed only during Christmas, Songkran, and one week during the summer. We understand the importance of flexibility for families, so Yedda Blue remains open to allow you to decide when you go on holiday. While you're away, children can continue learning online or with the learning box we provide.
I was reading the previous question/answer. "Always on" schooling sounds interesting. Can you explain further?
We understand the frustrations of traditional schools in Phuket being open for only 183 days a year, which is why we changed it. By being "always open" and providing remote learning when you're away, we offer your family the flexibility to travel whenever you want. This provides advantages like having holidays during non-peak periods, avoiding crowded times in Phuket, and the option to move between different Yedda Blue destinations.
How does a typical school day at Yedda Blue look?
We start with academic lessons in the morning, followed by lunch at the resort. After lunch, nursery learners have a nap while older learners engage in exciting activities and skill development. Nursery learners then continue with fresh extracurricular activities after their nap.
You mentioned that kids progress at their own pace. Can you explain the concept of an "individual learning journey"?
Every learner progresses at their own pace, while still meeting the academic requirements of the UK curriculum. We recognize that a "one size fits all" approach is not optimal. By following UK modules and consistently achieving or exceeding them (measured through UK internal assessments), we ensure that each learner progresses individually. This approach has proven to be highly effective.
Why Yedda Blue
Let me explain
For many years most experts explains that our traditional schools were built for the 20th century's work environment (mass, linear thinking and stability). Big classes. No/ not enough adaptation to the fact that we all have the world's data in our phone. And that preparing our kids to an unknown future and work reality, is a must. Read more
Education
Then Covid happened . Kids had to experiment remote studies, and being isolated from friends. We learnt that kids studying differently is possible, and that no matter what, kids social interactions is extremely important. So what if, kids can get fully credited for their studies while using a mix of online programs, face to face mentors, 'super teachers', and access to great facilities. While playing with friends, and enjoying meaningful childhood.
Work
It's a known secret that the productivity of working in office is not great for significant amount of occupations. But this is how it was always done.
Than Covid happened...you probably understand where I am heading. It looks like 'this is how it was always done' doesn't mean this is the way it should be done :) So what if, you work remotely using tech to facilitate it, but not from your home or next door cafe or co-working space, but from...Yedda.Blue destination/s.
Family
Spending time with your loved ones is invaluable. But kids are at school, you are in the office...this is how it was always done. Than Covid happened...rethinking priorities about yourself and your family. I guess you know what I am speaking about. So what if, you actually do something about it.
This is what Yedda.Blue is all about.
